What we're Serving
Visit our "Ottawa Buy Local, Grow Local Food Guide" for an interactive look at where local food is grown and sold in Ottawa and surrounding area. Check out farms, farmers' markets, CSAs, community gardens, Savour Ottawa restaurants and Savour Ottawa retail stores. Printed copies are available for pick-up at the Just Food office. Please call ahead. Presentations on buying and growing locally may also be requested.
The Just Food Farm promotes:
- a healthy local food economy with access to food for all, serving the growing demand for locally produced products
- a vibrant and economically viable farming sector
- a cost-effective model of conservation and land stewardship that builds on scientifically based agro-ecological practices and supports economic activities that yield habitat protection and ecological services
- innovation in green building and sustainable energy.
Community Gardening Network of Ottawa is an information and resource-sharing network that supports the sustainable development of community gardens within the city.

Savour Ottawa works to develop and promote Ottawa and area as a premier, year-round culinary destination, with robust offerings of local foods and experiences for both locals and visitors to the area.
Community Shared Agriculture (CSA) Farming. Community Shared Agriculture (CSA) is an approach to growing and purchasing food products in which the farmer and consumer are working cooperatively. In a CSA, the farmer grows food for a predetermined group of consumers. The consumer enters into an agreement of purchase with the grower prior to the start of the season. The farmer gains a guaranteed market; the consumer gains high quality, fresh food, as it becomes available. CSA farms usually offer weekly delivery or pick-up of vegetables, sometimes also flowers, fruits, herbs and meat products. The consumer-producer relationship is strengthened through the increased involvement of the consumers on the farm and with the farmer.
Each winter Just Food hosts CSA training workshops for farmers and future farmers.
