Sunday Community Days – free weekly event for all ages!

Just Food Farm invites you to get out on the farm, enjoy the summer weather, and get involved in your community’s good food!

Every Sunday starting July 8th, the farm will be hosting *free* community days filled with educational workshops, kids’ crafts, farm tours, local dry goods for sale, gardening, animal guests, tractor rides, and more! Every Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm. Stay tuned on our blog and follow us on facebook and instagram to find out about each week’s exciting theme and fun activities! Rain or shine!

WORKSHOPS

Agricultural and healthy-living education to get the community talking and learning about important food and farm topics. Hands-on experience after the workshops!

Mission: We want to get you engaged in your Good Food City! By learning how to create a local food forest and understanding how to help your neighbourhood pollinators, you’re engaging in important conversations and contributing to positive change in your community. Follow along for topic releases for each week!

KIDS’ ACTIVITIES

Farm-themed crafts and hands-on activities for families from 11 am to 1 pm. Special guests to watch for… farm animal friends and tractor wagon rides!

Mission: Everyone should know where their food comes from, no matter how young. The kids area is set to inspire young minds to learn about food and farming, and to motivate small hands to get busy in the dirt. Food literacy and soil experiences start early on!

FARMERS’ CUPBOARD

Stock your pantry with good food while supporting local farmers and small businesses! Check out the cool stock of honey, teas, seedlings, books, and more – grown and produced by our farmer friends! All profits go directly to the person who made it.

DONATE-A-ROW

Join us in the garden as we help good food grow! All produce will be donated to our friends at the Gloucester Emergency Food Cupboard.
BRING: long pants, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen!

Powering ethical agriculture with the sun

In the Alternatives Journal, Gideon Forman explores the use of solar power at The Just Food Farm.  Click here to read the article!

“Just Food is intriguing not only for its status as a rural-urban hybrid. It also boasts an unusual electricity source: a 10-kilowatt photovoltaic array launched in October 2017  with the financial assistance of Bullfrog Power and Beau’s Brewery. The PV panels power a cooler and greenhouse — where the group will attempt year-round growing — and a circa-1920s barn that serves as an education centre.”
