6. April 26 | Gloucester Emergency Food Cupboard Milestone Event and Celebration
The Gloucester Emergency Food Cupboard (GEFC) is one of Ottawa’s largest and busiest community foodbanks. They support over 3,500 of their neighbours when they need food – 46% under the age of 18. They provide four days of groceries about 2,000 times per month! Thanks to the support of the community, (including a plot at Just Food Farm), in addition to non-perishable food, they provide fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, eggs, milk and other healthy choices – enough for over 300,000 meals in 2018!
The GEFC first opened its doors 30 years ago and has been facilitating the community coming together to help others since then. Please help acknowledge this milestone by participating in the multicultural gala event, to be held on Friday, April 26. To join in the celebration you can purchase tickets here to a wonderful dinner event.
7. May 28 | Ottawa Horticultural Society Public Event: Lost Lanark Legacy Fruit Trees
